Brian E. Nussbaum

Since becoming a member of the California Bar in 1989, Brian's civil litigation practice has focused on the representation of industrial, institutional and entrepreneurial clients in complex, multi-party commercial, environmental, toxic tort and products liability cases. Brian's substantial experience includes all phases of discovery and factual investigation, depositions, arbitrations, mediations and trials.

From 1990 to 1996, Brian was associated with Banchero & Lasater, where his practice emphasized complex commercial litigation and the representation of railroad industry clients in environmental response cost recovery cases. From 1996 through 2000, Brian's practice focused on the defense of petrochemical industry clients in a variety of toxic and mass tort cases, first as a senior associate and then as a partner at Landels, Ripley and Diamond. From 2000 - 2001, Brian was Of Counsel to Morrison & Forester's Environmental Law Group, serving as PG&E's lead outside litigation counsel in administrative law proceedings before the California Public Utilities Commission. More recently, Brian's practice has focused on the defense of asbestos-containing product manufacturers and distributors in personal injury and wrongful death cases. Brian became Of Counsel to Vasquez Estrada & Conway LLP in November, 2006.

In 1986, Brian earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Society from the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he graduated with Highest Honors. In 1989, Brian received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California's Boalt Hall School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board, a student advisor to the Moot Court and Appellate Advocacy programs, and a member of the Labor Relations Law Journal.
